Fantastic Start to Tri-The Beloved Country

What a fantastic start to Tri the Beloved Country!

Great to see my sponsors (Global Business Solutions, Mpekweni Beach Resort and Spar) and the kids from the Carel du Toit Centre and loads of friends and family! Thanks especially to Colin and Nicolette Whitehead and the staff from Mpekweni Beach Resort for making it!

I couldnt have asked for a more beautiful day – very light easterly, sparkling blue water and bright sunshine.

It was very special for me to set off with my legendary friend Mandy Uys and with great friends and sponsors Linda and Johnny Goldberg. We had a visit from dolphins at Gonubie, some well wishers came spilling out of the Gonubie Hotel to clap and cheer and well known artist Jeff Rankin and his wife Judy had a great surprise for me on Sunrise on Sea beach. We set off at 8am from Sunrise Beach this morning an will be staying over at Haga Hotel (thanks for the very generous free night!). My brothers Craig and Russell Sparg are joining me for the next 2 days.
