Someone has turned up the hardship monitor! I spent yesterday in a haze of pethodine with one of my annoyingly predictable migraines so woke up this morning feeling like I had been flattened by a bus, with my sunburn lip blisters stuck together (top and bottom).
So i started the morning by having to rip off lip scabs in order to open mouth. (Charming) Then discovered insect bites on my leg had mutated into some vile infected tropical lurgy. Luckily I had Chanleigh Mason (met her running the Addo) and her business partner Rodney to run the first 15km with me. I would have been very tempted to go back to bed if I hadn’t had their company. I have never sweated so much in my life – the humidity was unbelievable!
I did the balance of my distance for today with extreme difficulty and many wrong turns and finished up somewhere near Nhlabane Nature Reserve. Thanks to Tammy who drove for me and helped me figure out direction!
[noteblock]I am on anti biotic for my tropical leg disease and hope that tomorrow will be better than today![/noteblock]
